Contestant Rules and Regulations:

1. Only home-baked pies will be accepted. No meat pies or cheesecakes will be accepted. The pie must be prepared and baked by the contestant submitting the pie entry for judging. Amateur bakers only. Professional and restaurant entries will not be accepted.
2. Crust and filling must be made from scratch. No store bought crust, dough, or canned fillings may be used.
3. One pie per applicant.
4. Only the first 15 entries will be entered in the contest. To be considered, application must be complete and submitted with printed copy of the recipe. No incomplete entries will be considered.
5. All entries become the property of the city of Torrance. We reserve the right to use your entry in all print and electronic media, and to edit for brevity and clarity.
6. Contestants must bring their pies to the Pie Judging area at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. To enter, application must be complete and submitted with a printed copy of the recipe.
7. Pie judging will take place between 10 a.m. to noon with winners announced shortly thereafter.

Judging will be based on the following criteria:

• Flavor
• Filling: consistency, doneness, moistness, and flavor
• Crust: color, flavor texture, and doneness
• Creativity
• Appearance

PRIZES:

First, Second, and Third place prizes will be awarded.
