The City of Torrance welcomes and encourages special events and filming activity within the City. With a balanced community comes a variety of locations, from residential to commercial to industrial. Known for its ease in permitting, Torrance is willing to work with production companies to match their needs with what the City can offer.

City Staff will assist you in the process of coordinating the various approvals and logistics for your upcoming event and/or filming project.

A film permit is required for all types of filming, including: TV, commercials, movies, still photography, videos, and student films.

You must obtain site approval from location of interest within the city limits.

Approval from the City's Community Services Department is required for filming at any park within the city limits.

The City Manager's staff oversees the permitting process and reviews all applications for special events and filming to be held within the City of Torrance.
