Specialized Operations Division Mission Statement

The Specialized Operations Division provides leadership, direction and oversight for special programs within the Torrance Fire Department and Mutual Aid Response outside of the City.  The Assistant Chief assigned to Specialized Operations ensures Torrance Fire Dept. is a reliable partner in Area G, Region 1 and the State of California when responding  to wild fires, Hazardous Materials incidents, Urban Search & Rescue and Technical Rescue as part of Master Mutual Aid Program.

Additionally, the SPEC OPS Division assists with the creation internal promotional exams, Homeland Security Grant Program (HSPG) administration, and disseminates emerging intelligence from Fusion Centers.
