June 2016
Torrance City Council adopted the city’s first Coyote Management Plan.

November 2018
City Council authorized an environmental review (CEQA) to study the effects of a coyote trapping program.

September 2019
City Council adopted a Negative Declaration (CEQA) and amended the 2016 Plan. In addition to establishing intensive education and outreach and hiring a part-time staff assistant, the Plan established an annual five month trapping period between February and March. The 2019 Update also revised the strategy of trapping coyotes in problem locations to trapping coyotes in a geographical area where increased coyote behavior is reported.

November 2021
City Council amended the 2019 Plan to trap year-round, 5 days a week.

September 2022
City Council amended the 2022 Plan to trap year-round, 7 days a week.
