Torrance Residents
The City of Torrance Public Works Department will provide Torrance residents a maximum of 10 sandbags, based on availability, on an annual basis. The number of sandbags provided may be less than 10 during a significant event (e.g. natural disaster, tropical storms, etc.).
Sandbags are available at the Torrance City Yard, located at 20500 Madrona Avenue on Mondays through Thursdays from 3PM to 4PM and alternating Fridays from 2PM to 3PM. Please check the City Hours of Operation as Public Works is closed every other Friday.
Torrance residents will be required to show a valid I.D. or Torrance utility bill as proof of residency. Please call 310-781-6900 to ensure staff is available to assist you.
During after-hours storm emergencies, residents should call the Torrance Fire Department at (310) 781-7042 for information about sandbags.
Sandbags are available for Torrance residents only, not businesses. If you are a business, sandbags may be available for purchase at local stores or online such as:

If you are a Torrance resident or live within LA County, you can obtain free sandbags from certain LA County Firehouses.
