Portability is the transfer process that enables Housing Choice Voucher holders to relocate and select housing anywhere in the United States. The Torrance Housing Authority works with other housing authorities in the portability process in order to further increase a participant’s residential choice and mobility and encourage social and economic integration.

Torrance Section 8 participants choosing to move under portability, must complete a Portability Requests and contact their assigned Housing Specialist.

Section 8 participants choosing to port into Torrance must contact their designated Housing Authority (PHA) to request the Portability Transfer.
