Maria Prekeges is one of the hosts of CitiCABLE's longest running program Community Cooking, which showcases various chefs and their recipes from Torrance and around Southern California.

Maria began her career in the mountains of Sun Valley, Idaho at a local radio station.  She then began working at the Resort Sports Network television affiliate, KSVT, Channel 13 TV.  There she fine-tuned her on camera skills, as well as her producing skills.  She eventually became the General Manager of the RSN affiliate, as well as a Paxon television affiliate.

From there she moved to Los Angeles, where she has been a freelance producer and on-camera talent for the past 6 years.  Maria is currently producing and hosting a wide variety of television programs on various networks, which include The Travel Channel, ESPN, Home and Garden TV, DIRECTV, and the Outdoor Life Network.

She also started a foundation in her mother's memory in Washington State, where she raises money for special "kids with cancer" summer camps around the state.  Maria graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Theater Arts.  She loves every aspect of the outdoors and is an avid snow skier and water skier.
