Assembly Bill (AB) 481 - Military Equipment Funding, Acquisition and Use Policy

On September 30, 2021, Governor Newsom signed Assembly Bill (AB) 481, which requires law enforcement agencies to establish rules for the funding, acquisition, and use of military equipment. Assembly Bill 481 has designated certain equipment as “military equipment,” regardless of whether it was procured from the military or not.
