Many times rescue operations involve technical application of mechanical advantage systems. Our "Rescue Systems Services" program provides emergency response capabilities involving:

All Torrance fire fighters are State Fire Marshal "Rescue Systems I" certified. One of our five paramedic rescue squads is assigned to the truck company at Station 6. All truck company personnel (and many others) are State Fire Marshal "Rescue Systems II" certified.

The Torrance Fire Department's Rescue Systems training staff and facility are certified by the State Fire Marshal for instructing Rescue Systems I. Our staff is available on a fee basis to provide this training to other fire departments.
