Non-Aviation Hangar Rentals

On March 15, 2022, Torrance City Council approved a new Non-Aviation Rental Agreement for non-aviation rentals at the Torrance Municipal Airport – Zamperini Field.  Airport staff is now accepting Non-Aviation Hangar Wait List applications. Currently the wait for a non-aviation hangar is about 2 years. Links to the non-aviation hangar wait list application, insurance requirements and the Standard Terms and Conditions are  below.

Non-aviation hangar rental rates as of 8/1/24 are:  Torrance Resident Rate - $1.423 per sq. foot and Non-Resident Rate - $1.596 per sq. foot.  The rates will be indexed to the May to May CPI-W which are adjusted accordingly on an annual basis.  These rates are 100% higher than the standard aviation rates, and are in line with other regional airports that have implemented similar programs. 

A maximum of 35 small type hangars will be used for non-aviation purposes.  Medium and executive hangars will not be used for non-aviation purposes.  Non-aviation hangars may be used for the storage of personal property only.  These hangars may not be used for habitation.  In addition, the hangars may not be used for storage of any fuel, including jet fuel.  The hangars may not be used to operate any business.  As with the standard hangar rental agreement, the non-aviation rental agreement is month to month.

The addition of the Non-Aviation Rental Agreement will not affect aviation tenants that are in compliance with their rental agreement.  Renting hangars to aviation tenants will still remain a priority over non-aviation tenants.  If you have any questions, please give the Airport Administration a call at 310-784-7900.
