Bona-fide Torrance-based, non-profit groups may submit events to be included in the Torrance citywide calendar pending approval. The City of Torrance Citywide Calendar System Administrator (Office of Cable and Community Relations) is responsible for determining which events are appropriate for posting and then approving a calendar entry. The administrator also has the capability to submit the event to other calendars so that your event may be posted on more than one calendar if appropriate. Events must occur within Torrance city limits to be considered for inclusion and submitted within the categories already identified within the calendar. Find out How To Submit.

Wings of Freedom Tour presented by WMoF

The Western Museum of Flight (WMoF) in conjunction with the City of Torrance, the Torrance Airport Association and the Collings Foundation, presents the Wings of Freedom Tour. Come see some classic planes (Ground Tours, Adults $15, Children under 12, $5) upfront and personal: the Liberator (most produced [19,000] heavy-bomber), the B-17 (the Flying Fortress), Mustang Dual Control (American long-range, single-seat fighter) and the Mitchell (“Made in the Shade”). You can really get personal by taking a ride in one of the WWII and Korean War planes. The display will be on view from Thursday, April 26th (2PM to 5PM) then Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 27, 28th and 29th (9AM to 5PM each day). Flights are $450 for a 30-minute experience (Flying Fortress and Liberator) or $400 for 20 minutes on the B-25 Mitchell. Special Flight Instructions for a 30-minutes training [$2200] or full hour [$3200] on the Mustang Dual Control. Contact Collings Foundation (800-568-8924 or www.CFDN.org) for flight/instruction arrangements.
