WMoF Celebrity Series: Celebrating Women in History
You’ll have a chance to see and hear from a Hall of Famer at the March Western Museum of Flight (WMoF) Celebrity Series. Not known for hits or pitches or touchdowns and dunks but rather a true Hall of Famer: Women in Aviation International HoF. Come hear Trish Beckman, a pioneer of the first group of combat aircraft qualified American female aircrews, who helped make aviation strong in America. A couple of her “firsts”: First woman to qualify as a crewmember in the F-15E program and first American woman to qualify as a crewmember in the F/A-18D. Trish spent 28 years in the Navy. As a Naval Flight Officer, she flew in 67 types of aircraft. Trish has flown for Boeing Commercial Airplanes Group in Seattle and has more than 6,000 flight hours in 73 total aircraft types. She helped influence Congress to repeal combat exclusion laws allowing women to fly aircraft engaged in combat missions. Museum Members Free, Non-Members: $10. Free parking available in Museum lot.
