Some business and property owners in Downtown Torrance have expressed interest in an added layer of safety and security, improved parking, creating a unified brand, and promoting community events to attract visitors to Downtown Torrance. One way of accomplishing these things is to establish a Business Improvement District (BID). With the support of the City, these business and property owners are exploring the feasibility of a BID for your area.

Urban Place Consulting Group has been hired to explore the possibility of establishing a BID in Downtown Torrance and is hosting a community meeting, which will focus on what a BID is, and how a BID can help. All decisions about whether a BID is established, how the money is spent, what the boundaries are, and more are made by the business and/or property owners.
