Gaines has been part of the performing entourage for the likes of Gladys Knight, Anita Baker, and Chaka Khan just to name a few. In between his writing, recording, and arranging he also is the musical director for Ronnie Laws. But previously he's made the rounds in the company of artists such as Kenny G, Rick Braun, Eric Darius, Tom Braxton, Brian Culbertson, Ray Fuller, violinist Karen Briggs and The Jazz Crusaders.
