Bona-fide Torrance-based, non-profit groups may submit events to be included in the Torrance citywide calendar pending approval. The City of Torrance Citywide Calendar System Administrator (Office of Cable and Community Relations) is responsible for determining which events are appropriate for posting and then approving a calendar entry. The administrator also has the capability to submit the event to other calendars so that your event may be posted on more than one calendar if appropriate. Events must occur within Torrance city limits to be considered for inclusion and submitted within the categories already identified within the calendar. Find out How To Submit.

Turf: Remove, Replace or Maintain it Organically

  • Introduction: Join us for a ZOOM Webinar on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, for a free Turf: Remove, Replace or Maintain it Organically workshop hosted by Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and the City of Torrance.

In this class learn how to remove your lawn and make the right moves for creating a gorgeous, watershed wise landscape including:

  1. Removing turf without the use of chemicals
  2. Replacing it with climate-appropriate plantings
  3. Keeping it in place but maintaining it in an organic manner
    • Simple lawn care strategies to improve resilience
    • Managing the big three: weeds, pests, and disease

The class is free, but registration is required.

Start time is 6:00 pm.  We’ll be ‘opening the doors’ a few minutes early to make sure you have plenty of time to settle into your technology.
