Bona-fide Torrance-based, non-profit groups may submit events to be included in the Torrance citywide calendar pending approval. The City of Torrance Citywide Calendar System Administrator (Office of Cable and Community Relations) is responsible for determining which events are appropriate for posting and then approving a calendar entry. The administrator also has the capability to submit the event to other calendars so that your event may be posted on more than one calendar if appropriate. Events must occur within Torrance city limits to be considered for inclusion and submitted within the categories already identified within the calendar. Find out How To Submit.

Volunteer for the 2022 Torrance Homeless Count

Join the Torrance Homeless Count on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 8 - 11 p.m. at Ken Miller Recreation Center.

How It Works

  • We will be following COVID protocols to ensure everyone’s safety
  • This year we invite you to sign up in teams of 2 or 3. Singles are also welcomed and can form a team at the event.
  • After checking in at the site, your team will drive the roads in your assigned census tract.
  • You will just be tallying how many people you see – keeping a respectful distance from them – using a new smartphone-based app.
  • You’ll be asked to view a short training video prior to the event.
  • When your team has finished, you’ll return to this deployment site to check out and return supplies.
  • After registering, be watching for email updates from the Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count for reminders and other news about the event.
