Bona-fide Torrance-based, non-profit groups may submit events to be included in the Torrance citywide calendar pending approval. The City of Torrance Citywide Calendar System Administrator (Office of Cable and Community Relations) is responsible for determining which events are appropriate for posting and then approving a calendar entry. The administrator also has the capability to submit the event to other calendars so that your event may be posted on more than one calendar if appropriate. Events must occur within Torrance city limits to be considered for inclusion and submitted within the categories already identified within the calendar. Find out How To Submit.

Southland Heart & Stroke Walk

The American Heart Association, the leading voluntary health organization focused on heart and brain health for all, invites the Southland community to join the Heart & Stroke Walk on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Heart & Stroke Walk is a fun and meaningful way to celebrate heart disease and stroke survivors, raise lifesaving funds and encourage physical activity.

This year’s theme, Heart Walk Here, invites participants to start their walk from various pop-up start lines set up around town, including in Torrance (Columbia Park, 4045 190th Street, Torrance CA 90503), or create a path of their own. From neighborhood streets to park and parkways to tucked away trails, participants are encouraged to Heart Walk at any location that inspires their heart health.

Funds raised from the Southland Heart & Stroke Walk go towards funding cardiovascular research, advocacy, CPR training and to promote better health in support of the Association’s 2024 Health Equity Impact Goal to reduce barriers to health care access and quality.

To register and for information about the pop-up start lines, visit SouthlandHeartWalk.org.
