Bona-fide Torrance-based, non-profit groups may submit events to be included in the Torrance citywide calendar pending approval. The City of Torrance Citywide Calendar System Administrator (Office of Cable and Community Relations) is responsible for determining which events are appropriate for posting and then approving a calendar entry. The administrator also has the capability to submit the event to other calendars so that your event may be posted on more than one calendar if appropriate. Events must occur within Torrance city limits to be considered for inclusion and submitted within the categories already identified within the calendar. Find out How To Submit.

The WMoF is BACK! COA - June 13th

The Western Museum of Flight (WMoF) will return to COA (course of action) starting (new) Sunday, June 13th The first of monthly Speaker Series returns to the WMoF with a large visual: the War Dog (wing span: 42 ft., length: 29 ft., speed of 212 MPH) then talking. You’ll be able to see the War Dog up close. Built in 1944 and serving many missions and stations it was set to be scrapped when the plane was sent back to the states where it was completely rebuilt to its original condition. The War Dog has logged over 10,000 hours. On hand will be its pilot John Collver.

Sharing the tarmac will be Northrop’s T-38 and former Northrop test pilot Roy Martin. Not familiar with the T-38? You probably saw it as the Air Force’s precision aerobatic team, the Thunderbirds (1974-1982). Then T-38 went in another direction as NASA operated a large fleet of T-38s as trainers, space shuttle approach simulators, and astronaut runabouts.

A great day for the whole family. There will also be model plane kits available for purchase and building.

Come join us Sunday, June 13th (week prior to Father’s Day) from 10AM-3PM. WMoF members free and non members are only $5.
