Bona-fide Torrance-based, non-profit groups may submit events to be included in the Torrance citywide calendar pending approval. The City of Torrance Citywide Calendar System Administrator (Office of Cable and Community Relations) is responsible for determining which events are appropriate for posting and then approving a calendar entry. The administrator also has the capability to submit the event to other calendars so that your event may be posted on more than one calendar if appropriate. Events must occur within Torrance city limits to be considered for inclusion and submitted within the categories already identified within the calendar. Find out How To Submit.

JACK'S CATS (Torrance Cultural Arts Foundation: Studio Cabaret Series)

The Torrance Cultural Arts Foundation presents from their Studio Cabaret Series: JACK’S CATS in the George Nakano Theatre, 3330 Civic Center Drive.

Tickets are $50/$33.  Call the Theatre Box Office at 310.781.7171.  For more information access www.jackscats.com or www.torrancearts.org.

Led by Jack Malmstrom on clarinet and tenor sax, Jack’s Cats’ tight rhythm section and top-shelf vocalist have won friends at clubs, private events, and jazz festivals with a warm, swinging sound of small jazz combos from the “pre-bop” era.

The Cats’ arrangements overflow with one-third hand-picked standards, one-third forgotten gems…and one-third Jack’s Cats originals, done in a period style.  Dancing – as well as listening – is encouraged!

“Folks who know jazz know it’s good; those that don’t – just know it’s fun.”
