Bona-fide Torrance-based, non-profit groups may submit events to be included in the Torrance citywide calendar pending approval. The City of Torrance Citywide Calendar System Administrator (Office of Cable and Community Relations) is responsible for determining which events are appropriate for posting and then approving a calendar entry. The administrator also has the capability to submit the event to other calendars so that your event may be posted on more than one calendar if appropriate. Events must occur within Torrance city limits to be considered for inclusion and submitted within the categories already identified within the calendar. Find out How To Submit.

Original Fall Tour of Historic Homes

This only-happens-every-two-years-so-we-do-it-up-right event is open to the general public and has been a long-standing tradition for over 35 years, now.

The homes on the tour reflect an eclectic mix - from Spanish Colonial Revival to Craftsman Bungalow to Mission Revival - which characterize and add to the charm of Old Torrance -- founded 1912. Houses on the Tour were built between 1918 and 1936. Each home will have a Model A car parked in front of it courtesy of South Bay Touring A's.

The self-guided Original Fall Tour of Historic Homes begins at the Torrance Historical Society & Museum - 1345 Post Avenue, Old Torrance

Tickets: $25 - tickets are purchased directly from the Museum either day of the tour, or online via PayPal - www.torrancehistoricalsociety.org/news/events.html (PayPal tickets will be available for pick-up at the Museum’s front desk). Museum will open at 10:30 AM, both days.

Complimentary lemonade and Torrance Bakery Cookies (www.TorranceBakery.com) will be served from the historic 1925 Woman's Club with an added bonus of Views of Torrance art by the Artists of Torrance Artist Guild and Destination: Art, and the Torrance Rose Float Association’s – Floating Through the Decades -- large framed photos of all the city of Torrance’s winning Tournament of Roses Parade entries -- being on display

The homes may viewed in any order, on either day, and all are within walking distance from the Museum -- the furthest being six blocks away.

This event generously sponsored by The Van Lingen Group (www.vanlingen.com).
